Techcollege was founded in 1805 as a technical school by a group of the city’s prominent master craftsmen. Today, the school is an independent institution, led by a board of directors and an executive board, headed by director Søren Samuelsen.
It is important for us to have close relationships with the world we educate for. That is why we establish ties with local stakeholders, for example through advisory boards for different subject areas, and we work actively with teacher and student exchanges, school partnerships and pedagogical development projects around the world.
Techcollege is a UNESCO Global Goals School and working with sustainability and the UN Global Goals is an important part of Techcollege’s strategy. We are working to bring sustainability much more into all our teaching and practice.

We are very keen to share experiences with other educational institutions and experience their approach to professionalism and pedagogy, both here in Denmark and internationally. This translates into, for example, summer schools for primary school students, participation in and training courses leading up to the Danish Skills and WorldSkills championships, interdisciplinary teaching courses with vocational schools and international professional competitions at a high level. All of this gives our students the chance to develop their skills beyond the ordinary.
We are continuously working to create attractive, healthy learning and study environments for our students. This applies to both the physical framework, the virtual one, and the political one in the form of student councils.
